A metodologia empregada permitiu a
Análises preliminares; Concepção e análise a priori; Experimentação; Análise à posteriori e
The present research intends to investigate the application of a methodological proposal for the
learning of the Exponential Function from the Classical Didactic Engineering combined with
the Theory of the Semiotic Representation Records. The methodology employed allowed the
observation and recording of data collected through the sequence of classes or activities
designed and organized in a coherent way to a planning based on current methodologies of
Mathematical Education, originating from the so-called French Didactics. In this regard, to
achieve the research objective, a Didactic Sequence was carried out with 20 students of the Full
Mathematics Degree Course, of the first period, for 12 hours, in the classes of the Pre-Calculus
Discipline at the Federal University of Alagoas - Campus Arapiraca, located in the city of
Arapiraca-AL, in the year 2019. The research, exploratory and experimental, was permeated
by the theoretical assumptions of the Classical Didactic Engineering of Michèle Artigue (1988)
and for the studies of the Theory of the Semiotic Representation Records, we base the research
based on Raymond Duval (1993, 2009). The research is divided into four phases: Preliminary
analyzes; A priori design and analysis; Experimentation; Post-analysis and validation. From the
posterior analysis and validation, it was found that the Research Hypothesis was partially met,
but the Didactic Sequence contributed to the students' learning, as well as supporting the teacher
during his teaching practice providing other forms of learning and making your classes more
dynamic and participatory. It can be inferred that the use of this methodology enabled students
to understand the Exponential Function and its mobilization, through conversions and
treatments of different records of representation of the mathematical object, helped students in
meaningful learning of this content.
