Jogadores
cinco clubes participantes do campeonato.
foram mais frequentes (49,1%; n=55). O principal mecanismo foi indireto (67,8%;
n=76). O tipo mais frequente foi junção/ligamento (48,2%; n=54). O sítio
Football players, due to the characteristics of sports activity, are
constantly exposed to the occurrence of musculoskeletal injuries. This study
aimed to describe the profile in professional athletes from Alagoas, Brazil,
participants in the Alagoas` First Division Championship of 2020. An
observational and retrospective study was carried out, through a data
collection instrument developed by the researchers, involving 65 athletes from
five clubs that participated in the championship. The analyzed variables were
prevalence of injury, age, occasion, mechanism, type of injury, severity, field
position and injury site. Then, a descriptive data analysis was carried out.
The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of
Alagoas under C.A.A.E. nº 29788320.2.0000.5013. The prevalence of players with
injuries was 87.6% (n = 57) and the total number of injuries reported was 112.
Injuries during training were the most frequent (49.1%; n = 55). The main
mechanism was the indirect (67.8%; n = 76). The most frequent type was of
joint/ligament (48.2%; n = 54). The anatomical site most frequently affected
was the thigh (30.4%; n = 34). And, due to the time off, the most common
severity found among the injuries was the severe (50.9%; n = 57). There was a
high prevalence of sports injuries, more frequently characterized by
joint/ligament injuries and severe injuries. More research is needed to corroborate
or refute our results, however, the data obtained will certainly assist in
directing actions for the prevention and treatment of injuries, resulting in
the reduction of the number and severity of injuries in the future, in addition
to adding to the collection of knowledge in this regard in Brazilian football.
