experimentos, incluindo linguagem verbal textual e linguagem visual. A despeito
Science and art have
their own methods and languages, however, an integration between both can be
fruitful in the educational field, favoring, among many other things, the
development of imagination, creativity, sensitivity and autonomy of thought.
Despite these potentialities, there are still few studies that analyze the use
of poems in chemistry classes. In this way, the present work presented a
pedagogical proposal that articulated poetry and experimentation in the
teaching of chemistry in order to analyze the first conceptions and
fecundations arising from aesthetic experience combined with experimentation,
aiming to contribute to a more sensitive and integrative teaching. The research
was carried out with 16 students of the second year of High School of a public
state school located in the region of agreste Alagoas. The poem in question
addressed the theme intermolecular forces, presenting, synthetically, concepts
such as polarity, electrostatic attraction, interaction between dipoles and the
formation of solutions. Students' writings from reading were used as research
data, as well as the slides of each group presentation on the experiments
carried out. From the analysis of the students' conceptions, it can be observed
that the poem provoked different reactions, among them emotions of strangeness
and humor, doubts, curiosities and new thoughts about chemistry. The analysis
of the slides identified the presence of different modes of representation in
an attempt to explain the experiments, including verbal textual and visual
language. Despite the direct relationship of the experiments with the text and
the reactions of strangeness and curiosity caused by reading, these
characteristics were not sufficient to foster thinking beyond the canonical
forms of chemical content. The fact that Science and art are specific languages
and little associated in the school context suggests that the aesthetic
experience needs to be a more specific activity, so that the sensorial
interferences start to stimulate a type of reaction different from what usually
occurs.
