a xenoglossofobia.
inglesa. Esse trabalho está dividido em cinco capítulos. No primeiro capítulo
trago uma introdução sobre o tema. No segundo apresento um referencial teórico
que fundamenta a pesquisa. No terceiro capítulo trago a metodologia utilizada
No quarto capítulo exponho
When we highlight
psycho-emotional issues in the classroom, specifically in English language
classes, we are faced with a recurring obstacle that haunts many students: xenoglossophobia.
This conclusion work entitled IMPACT OF XENOGLOSSOPHOBIA ON STUDENTS OF
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND THE USE OF THE HELLO TALK APPLICATION AS A MEANS OF
ENGLISH LEARNING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PALESTINA, ALAGOAN OUTBACK developed in
the context of my graduation. My general objective was to propose a reflection
on xenoglossophobia and the use of technology to assist in the process of
teaching and learning English. To achieve my goal, I present recent theories as
a theoretical basis for possible significant changes in the teaching of
English, as a foreign language (FL). To this end, I established four specific
objectives. The first was to expose the basic concepts and information about
xenoglossophobia; the second presents the main views on the knowledge and
learning transmission process; the third defend the use of social media as
teaching tools; and the fourth experience the Hello Talk application as a learning
mechanism in English language classes. This work is divided into five chapters.
At the first chapter I bring an introduction on the topic. In the second, I
present a theoretical framework that underlies the research. In the third
chapter I bring the methodology used in carrying out the work (GIL, 2008, p.
58), which has a qualitative approach and that’s a case study, carried out for
six months with the application of questionnaires, interviews, the use of sequences
didactic and practical with the hellotalk language learning app. In the fourth chapter
I explain the results obtained with the research, which during the classes
demonstrate that the 70% of students who reported difficulties with the English
language showed an improvement in performance both in the classroom and in
informal conversation circles. In the fifth chapter of the paper I discuss the
main results, showing that the literature presents the need for English
language teaching to use resources to deal with the anxiety of the learning construction
process (POLIDÓRIO, 2014). This research is expected to contribute so that more
English language researchers and professionals can expand their knowledge and
notions about the current study to introduce such pedagogical practices in EFL
classes.
