Educação Física do Campus Arapiraca e
utilizado o International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), versão curta.
42.05% eram do sexo feminino.
insuficientemente ativos.
The pandemic of COVID-19 began in mid-December 2019 and already in the
first months of 2020, as a way to try to contain the advance in the number of
cases, the WHO suggested some public health measures, including social
distancing. The measures taken to avoid agglomerations also ended up
prohibiting the opening of spaces designated for the practice of physical
activity (PA), further aggravating a global scenario of insufficient practice
of habitual PA. Like the entire population, college students are also suffering
from the pandemic; studies conducted with this public have shown a significant
increase in relation to insufficient or non-existent PA practice. With the lack
of studies on the subject in the State of Alagoas, we aimed to evaluate the
habitual level of PA among students of the Physical Education course at
Arapiraca Campus and analyze the association between the PA level and the
gender of students. The study has a cross-sectional characteristic of
quantitative approach, which used data from the form answered online, via
Google Forms Platform. The variables about gender, body mass index (BMI) were
used and to measure the habitual level of physical activity during isolation,
the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), short version, was used.
The results show that 57.94% of the college students were male and 42.05% were
female. Vigorous PA averaged 203 min/week; Moderate PA averaged 226 min/week
and Walking PA averaged 197 min/week. 78.5% of students were classified as
physically active and 21.5% as insufficiently active.
