Social inclusion is a process that must occur throughout life and in all environments in which the person is inserted, whether in the school, familiar or social sphere. We need to be aware of changes in education and what mechanisms help people with disabilities to develop, favoring their autonomy, respect, and equity. Therefore, our research problem is what are the teaching practices relat ed to students with intellectual disabilities found in multifunctional resource rooms (MRR). In line with our problematization, the general objective is to analyze the teaching practices related to students with intellectual disabilities found in the multifunctional resource rooms of municipal schools in the regular education network of Arapiraca/AL. As specific objectives, we seek to reflect on the relationship between the teacher of the specialized educational service and the family of the disabled person assisted in the multifunctional resource room; understand the relationships between teachers and students with intellectual disabilities in the teaching and learning process. To find the answer to this problem, a study was carried out based on Historical-cultural Psychology, based on Vygotsky's writings. Regarding the research process, the study is based on a qualitative field research, of a descriptive nature, which took place through semi-structured interviews and observations of the teaching practice in the SRM, in three municipal schools that develop assistance with people with intellectual disability in that municipality. For data analysis, the content analysis proposed by Bardin was used through the pre-analysis of the information, exploration of the material and treatment of the results. Our analyzes allowed the construction of the three categories to understand how the teaching practice occurs in the SRM. The first category was named “Professor”, as it deals with the experiences of teachers in the AEE since their first contacts, their training, the practice carried out at SRM and their relationship with the student. In the second category, we can highlight “School”, verifying how the relationship between regular school and special education happens. And, finally, the “Family” category, which brings a reflection on the teacher's relationship with the disabled person's family, observing how they perceive the child within the educational context and what partnerships the family found to support their intellectual development. and emotional development of the disabled child. Through this study on teaching practice, it was possible to perceive that the work at SRM has been challenging and still has not achieved its objective, providing innovative practices to students who need to be assisted by these spaces. The results indicate the need for training for teachers of Specialized Educational Assistance, as well as a better structural organization so that inclusion happens indeed and favors a better quality of life for our students.
