O presente trabalho aborda o preconceito
linguístico e a variação linguística no contexto educacional, destacando a
A pesquisa
This paper addresses linguistic
prejudice and linguistic variation in the educational context, highlighting the
importance of valuing different ways of using language. The research aimed to
investigate students' perceptions of linguistic diversity and identify possible
manifestations of prejudice related to language. To carry out the study,
qualitative-quantitative research was applied, using a questionnaire as a data
collection instrument. Basic education students participated in the research,
and their responses were analyzed in light of the assumptions of
Sociolinguistics. The results showed that the participants recognize the
existence of different linguistic varieties and, for the most part, demonstrate
attitudes of respect for diversity. However, conceptions that associate certain
ways of speaking with ideas of correctness, prestige, or superiority were also
identified, revealing the persistence of linguistic prejudices. It is concluded
that the school plays a fundamental role in promoting a critical and inclusive
linguistic education, contributing to the appreciation of linguistic diversity
and to the fight against discriminatory practices related to language.
